According to the press, Work-safe in Victoria is reported to have paid bonuses to Law firms involved in work-place injury litigation to encourage them to limit the extent of court costs wherever possible. Ostensibly, the smaller the legal fees billed to Work-safe, the more money is available for payment of successful claims to injured workers.
