Another great wall of China?

APEC kicks-off  in Beijing co-incident with the 25th anniversary of the Berlin Wall's demise.

If you liken APEC to a massive wall, it also has some developing cracks which need to be mended asap. China together with it's regional neighbors (eg. Japan and South Korea), share historical disputes with each other which, if not promptly buried once and for-all, could upset the ability of APEC to fulfill its role as moderator of cordial international relations in what is widely touted as being the 'Asian century'.
