The Qantas AGM in Melbourne yesterday attracted a much smaller than normal shareholder attendance, but was none the less vociferous for that. Anger over poor performance of the company under the stewardship of current CEO Alan Joyce was reportedly foremost... although the quality of small pies and 'mini'-sandwiches served in the venue foyer after the meeting also apparently drew adverse comment.
Mr. Joyce forecast happier times ahead for Qantas... but that served little to dampen the immediate disquiet of attending shareholders, who perhaps, have heard it all before?
