How things can change in a relatively short space of time in the political arena?
Couldn't resist paraphrasing one of Keating's famous quips in today's cartoon. One is also reminded of Malcolm Fraser's smart 'pants down' shot just before the 1983 election as well ... not knowing that Bob Hawke had suddenly replaced Bill Hayden.
Counting chickens also comes to mind. Will they never learn?
