Today I learned (accidentally) that yesterday was 'Lolly-Pop' Day in the US, 'Only in America' I hear you say... and, that was my immediate reaction as well.
It seems to be loosely associated with fund-raising for children's health solutions and research on finding preventatives for things like cancer of the oesophagus. What left me bemused were accompanying warnings that over-indulgence of sweets can ruin kid's teeth... thus lollies etc, should be enjoyed RESPONSIBLY... just like gambling.
If it is potentially 'bad' for kids...why promote the 'day' in the first place?
