How many more citizens of that nation have to die or be maimed at the alter of a constitutional element which was clearly written to meet an eighteenth century scenario with no ability to envisage military weapons like automatic assault rifles being in the hands of civilians in a non-warlike situation?
In my opinion, it is recklessly stupid of US political and civilian leadership to allow this deadly situation to persist any further. As far as I'm concerned, guns are not the problem. Culpibility lies with those who avoid dragging the constitution into the 21st century with an amendment to allow reasonable control over the trafficking of weaponry that ostensibly has no real use or purpose in a 'well regulated' civilian population.
As I understand it, the constitution requires nothing more than removal of an errant comma to enable corrective action to proceed?
