Drive music

What was occupying my mind on this day in 2013? The original blog text reveals all.

Musical driving.

You'd think there were more important things to occupy the minds of 'tomorrow's leaders'. Yesterday's Age reports the findings of 'a London University' research into the impact of music being listened to while a person is driving a car. The tempo of Pop tunes was found to be the most conducive to concentration for drivers. 60-80 beats a minute mimicks the normal heartbeat of human beings. Wow! On the other hand, 'Hip-hop and heavy metal tend to make drivers more aggressive ... which is not a good thing. Gee! Who knew that? But, the rub is that Classical music is apparently a precursor to erratic driving! Oh yes ... largely attractive to that scourge of the highways ... the 'older' driver. Co-incidence?
Perhaps one would be crass to suggest that most of the 'researchers' would be ... err students? Thus, (generally speaking) with a distinct taste for modern music over older forms
Whatever, I shall continue to favour classical and even ancient music as my companion when undertaking long and tiresome 'behind the wheel' duty. And, to hell with the consequences!
