After being dogged by groundless (tho' biting) criticism from errant canine celebrities, the minister then snaps at the heels of our innocent (of mishandling canines that we know of) Indon friends in a rabid demonstration of undiplomatic barking!

Can this be the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia?

Sunday Strips extra



Use of the word tsunami in a cartoon posted earlier today reminded me that the only cartoon I can recall having rejected during some 26 years of association with TravelWeek ... happened to be an episode of Small Potatoes! My comment on the tsunami of that year was driven by genuine compassion for the horrible loss of life caused by that disastrous event. However, the editorial management judged my take to be a bit raw for a publication promoting travel... and I had no real objection to their action at the time.

As a bonus, here is the strip that didn't make it into print.

Are we getting value from the tsunami of advertising currently being sponsored by the federal government using tax-payer dollars? And, there was I thinking they were short of revenue funds!

As the Federal government's 'big moment' nears I have the uneasy feeling that Messrs Turnbull and Morrison appear to be making it up as they near the moment of truth in order to satisfy what they think  people in various sectors of the economy want to hear ,,, as distinct from what the economy needs?
